Does anyone out there have a good site for HDMI cables?

Monoprice is pretty much the best place you can go.

Dirt cheap cables that are just as good as others that are many times the price.

monoprice

If you absolutely want something good, but not monoprice then bluejeanscable is hard to beat.
Just got 3 16' PureAV HDMI cables at Sam's club for $24 each. They had 8' also but I did not memorize the price. They also had 30' PureAV component cables for $16. I bought them out on those.
Thanks! Now, what about a good surge protector???
Cyberpower, APC, Tripplite, you cannot go wrong with most of the time.

I would recommend a UPS instead if you have a DVR though, does not need to be a very big one as they do not draw a lot of power, but it will reduce wear on your DVR during small power glitches and outages.

www.refurbups.com is a good place to look sometimes as they have some great deals.

APC and Cyberpower are the best for UPS units IMO.

I have a small APC UPS for each of my HR20's. Found them on sale for less than $50 each.

:)
For all of the above check out partsexpress.com. (made you look!! sex right in the middle) These guys carry a lot of stuff. Have always been light on satellite accessories though.
Suggest a UPS as well to protect the Hard Drive.

I got several APC 350VA's for around $20 at OfficeMax several years ago specifically for my DVR's. I've seen an APC 325 for $15 at Circuit City in the last week or so but I think it's out of stock today. Can't put a lot else on it but for a single DVR it should be more than adequate for 20-30 minute outages.

If you want something more substantial -- Staples has a very nice APC 550VA for $45 after rebate (free shipping online, but have to add tax most places).
Do the DirectTV installers provide a HDMI cable when installing a new HR22?

OR

Do we have to provide our own?

not only are prices good but shipping and communication is good too. done quite a lot with them lately, never any issues.

DirecTV installers (with the exception of those who work directly for a retailer) get receivers that do NOT come with any cables. They are supposed to be issued cables separately, including HDMI, and are supposed to use the best cable(s) that are appropriate for the TV they are connecting to. Having said that, sometimes the warehouse is out of stock, and if a tech runs out, there's nothing he can do until more come in.

The cables DirecTV supplies are all 6' long, so if you need a longer cable, or want a better one, then Monoprice or Blue Jeans Cable are the way to go.

In house techs are trained to install the best quality cables determined by
the customers TV. In other words if your tv has HDMI input they are suppose
to hook up HDMI, not component>
