I have had DTV come the last 2 days and install their new HD DVR but I cannot get the HDMI to show a picture. All I get is "not supported mode" on my Samsung LCD 46" TV. My other HD Receiver (non DVR) worked just fine with the same cable. I have tried Components and they work fine. I also have tried HDMI mode and component mode on my TV and only component mode worked. DTV says they will send a third one and to keep using components for now. I don't want to use the components, that's why I bought the HDMI cable! I also have a surround sound cable hooked up to the receiver but I don't know if that makes a difference. Can anybody shed some light on my problem?

Have you tried toggling the different video formats on the unit?

Some TV's won't support certain resolutions on certain connections
(My TV won't take a 480i signal via it's DVI/HDMI connection)

when i get that message on my samsung dlp tv its because they do not support 480i on HDMI inputs dont know why but that what happens

Same here, my DLP won't support 480i over DVI. Wolf sure you're sending the right format to your TV from the HR20, you can probably see and change it from the front panel.
