In my Home Theater room I have a HD projector and a 40" HDTV. I need a HDMI switch to change my output from my DVR to these. I watch the movies on my projector, but regular programming on the 40".

Will HDMI switches work this way with D* receivers? It would be one input and 2 outputs. It is not necessary to be auto, but that would be a plus.

I have a monoprice switch product #5312, 4 input 2 output. It works with 25 feet of the 22 gage monoprice hdmi CL 2 rated hdmi cable with port savers. works with 3D as long as both sets are 3D or you don't mind going to directv's web sit and reauthorize your HR 21 or higher dvr, every time you want to use 3D, thats assuming you have a 3D display. They also have some HDMI spitters that I have no experience with but if they are like everything ells I have from them they will work and work good.

Thanks for the info on the splitter bpratt, the switch works just like that only you could run say a blue-ray to one set and DirecTV to the other. I had just order that along with a hdmi to component converter to fix a problem with the HDCP content protection on HBO, that my be coming to all of the premium channels and pay per view.
