Hey folks,

I need some recommendations for HDMI switches. Ones that are proven to work, relieble and able to work with Hermony 890 remotes. I have been looking on Newegg, Bestbuy and others but can't decide which would work best after I read the reviews. Just got a Bluray player which is why I need one. Thanks in advance for providing your input.

Chucky, about a year ago I bought a Belkin PureAV 3-in-1 HDMI Video Switch, and have been using it without any problems since then. It costs a little over 100 bucks, but picture and sound are perfect, and it comes with a remote. I got mine from Fry's in San marcos, CA, but you can find it here:
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=281816 , or at Fry's website (frys.com). Not only does it allow more components to plug in, but using it to switch between my two HR20's is a heck of a lot easier and quicker than using the TV's menu.

Pardon what may seem like hype, but I honestly love the little thing.

Although I'm a big Monooprice fan, I picked up an IOGEAR automatic 2 in 1 HDMI switch from Newegg. I never have to use a remote to switch inputs. I have it connected to an HD TiVo and PS3. Normally, the TiVo feeds my TV, but simply turning on the PS3 switches the input. Nice!

I've had my monoprice 4x1 HDMI switch in operation for about 5 days and it is rock solid! Picture is fantastic and the transition between my 3 HDMI devices is smooth. My Harmony 890 remote works great with it. Thanks again gents for your advice.

Sears via their website carries a Monster Cable 3 port HDMI switch with intelligent IR learning capability from your current remote/remotes in the $150 range. Looks very well built, IR sensor is portable so you can actually hide the switch box. 1080P/24. Has a good warranty. I ordered one today. Here is the write up-

3 high-performance HDMI inputs instantly adds additional full 1080p inputs to your AV system

Built-in infrared "learning" technology allows use of your existing universal remote to switch between connected sources

Mountable external infrared receiver hides the switcher from view while maintaining full remote control

Advanced jitter reduction circuitry corrects signal timing errors for the sharpest picture and most accurate color

Versatile design allows horizontal or vertical orientation for flexible placement in tight spaces

I wouldn't touch a product with the Monster name on it. Grossly overpriced and no better than the alternatives.
