Depending on what market you are in, local channels could be on 101, 99, 103 or 119. You are apparently in a market where they are not on 101. Check the tips and resources forum, there is a thread that lists all the transponders on all the satellites, and what is on each one. From that you should be able to determine where your locals are. Then you can get the appropriate dish to receive them (either the Phase III or a Slimine).
HDR20-700 18" issue
I want to use my older HR20-700 with an 18" dish. When I run Sat set up it returns an error on tuner 1 (13v) and a red box with an x in it. Tuner 2 is fine with (18v) and a check mark in the box. I do not get my local channels on this box with this setup. I have it set to multi switch and dual tuner as I have two wires coming from the dish. It is on a SD tv and I have the HR setup for SD. Why no local channels but I get the rest of my package?

If you post back with your zip code we can tell you what type of dish you need for your locals..
I have an HR20-100 running off an old 18" dish with two cables and it works OK for SD. I get the locals with an antenna that is connected to the receiver.

re-read the posts. are you in a different market than where your box is registered to? For example, do you have a box with a Pennsylvania address and you are using it on vacation in say South Carolina? If so the locals won't match up
