Help!!! HD/DVR Can't connect to the internet

1010 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  dcanesdbs
Hello,

I just purchased 2 internet kits from DTV that plug in the wall. I have a wireless router that if any wireless device connects it needs to encryption key. I have everything setup, or so I think, correctly. Everything says OK when running the network test except for the internet connection. Now I went into the Advanced settings on the DVR and set the correct IP, Subnet etc of the router... Still everything is good, Network connectionm etc, except for the internet connection!

Any HELP would be appreciated. I'm at a loss

Please describe your full network.
Do you have DSL or cable - which provider? What modem/model? What's the brand/model of your router? What IP is the router, and does it have DHCP server turned "on" ?

You say you manually set the IP/Subnet in the advanced network settings on the DVR - did you enter the IP of your router?

I think I finally got it... Logged into my router and disabled anonomous requests from the internet which I would assume this would allow the connection... It is working but VERYYYYYYYYYYY slow... I have Comcast Cable.... I have my PC up and my 2 laptops so maybe that is what is making things slow.
