I narrowly escaped being sent an R15 receiver from D* but figured out it wasn't a TIVO unit and was able to cancel the order. I thought I'd be smart and order a receiver off of ebay, and I did win the auction but the guy wants to charge me $70 shipping to get it from Georgia to Houston by Thursday (10/20). Does anyone on here have an old R10 to sell? I won the online auction for $75, so I'd be willing to pay that plus (reasonable) shipping to get it here by Thursday. The only thing I care about is that it's a working box in good condition and a legitimate box - no unpaid charges, non-release by old owner, etc. I have two boxes, one of which I'm not planning on using anymore and D* told me that I could reuse my access card. Okay - thanks for considering!

No, his shipping said it was $20 for standard ground and I, being a newbie to ebay, figured it would be like $20 more for 2nd day. I mean, I know they have a markup on shipping, I just didn't realize it would be so exorbinate. Also, I've emailed him three times asking if the price ($70) was indeed for 2nd day, because his invoice didn't specify that it was, and he has not replied to me. It's been 24 hours so I'm getting a little nervous. I'm not quite ready to pull the trigger on another plan, because I want to give the guy a chance to NOT be a shiester (sp?), but I'm not holding out any hope and I really want an R10, you know?

Unfortunately the guy doesn't offer anything but UPS. AND, he finally emailed me and acted like he had never sent me an invoice for $70 shipping. I'm giving him one more chance to give me a good quote and then I'm going to try something else. Thanks for your suggestions!

The ebay guy has come through - apparently there was some sort of mistake made on the invoice and he has revised to a MUCH more reasonable rate. I appreciate everyone's suggestions!
