I'm experiencing an occasional pixelation problem. I don't watch a lot of live TV, so I notice it on recordings, both HD (HBOHD) and SD (SciFi). It will occur at least once during a 1 hour show, sometimes 2-3 times. It's only in patches and "washes" over the screen for a fraction of a second, so it's more an annoyance than anything else. I have a 301 hooked up to a TiVo and don't seem to see any pixelation, so I'm wondering if it's related to the ViP622 (using component output into a Sony KF60WE610). I've tried both 720p and 1080i. Tried rebooting. I have 2 Dish 500s (upgraded to HD about 1 month ago). I think I'm using 61.5, 110, and 119. Weather has been clear. Located in central NJ.

Is there a way to fix this?

What is the signal strenght levels for the different sats?

Which transponder should I be looking at? This is what I have for transponder 2:

61.5 = 84
110 = 91
119 = 98

It's raining heavily now, so there is some loss. No video problems apparent just surfing through the HD and SD channels.

I've noticed these symptoms, always on playback of a pre-recorded program. I have chalked it off as an occasional read error from the hard drive because as I delete programs I have watched and the HD gets to a much higher recording capacity then new recordings look ok. As the HD begins to fill I start to see occasional dropouts again.

So I assume my HD has one or two bad sectors. Not sure if the 622 software checks for bad sectors and locks them out or not.

How old is your 622 and how full is your hard drive when you see the pixelation? My 622 is only 1 month old and only about 50% full so it would suck for it to be a hard drive glitch this soon into operation.

Come to think of it, I recall in the very beginning I experienced a blacked out screen and no audio for several minutes during an HD show on CBS. I kind of wrote it off at the time, but now, I'm wondering if it's related to the pixelation issue.
