The only option for running an HD DVR on a single cable is a SWM. You can find lots of info on the forums about it.
Solidsignal.com has them for $139 which is a good price. Or find member dave29 who sells them.fhfloyd40 said:Wow you guys are awesome! I had read about swm and had asked d* about it and now I know why they wouldn't consider it. My recievers are swm compatable (2 hr-21's and 2 d12's) where can I get a swm8 module and will my current dish (5lnb) work?
If all your lines come to one location you can just place the SWS there.fhfloyd40 said:thanks for answering my questions instead of just directing me to an swm thread. Will I need a sws for the other hr21 and d12's? For the power is this a power block that is attached to rg6 in the house then that particular line is attached to the swm8( I had this on a previous d* setup)?
Take a look at the diagrams in the earlier post, they are not bad, though I prefer the ones near the end of the file in this post. http://www.dbstalk.com/showpost.php?p=1721124&postcount=30fhfloyd40 said:What I understand so far is that I will can use my dish I have now the 4 lines that come from it, connect them to a swm8, then for the one line that is going to the hr21 with only 1 available rg6 attach a sws then on the inside of house on that line a pi then to the hr21. For the other hr21 I can still use the 2 lines for it and do not need a sws or a pi.
How would you know? If i used a D* "approved" one would that work?carl6 said:As long as the splitter passes dc power on one port and not on the other 3.
