I'm looking to upgrade my internal HD on one of my HR20-100's to a 750 GB so I can record more Olympics next month. I'm more into quality than quantity so that's why I'd rather get a quality, quiet drive that doesn't run hot vs. a cheaper 1 TB drive.

I've been looking at several of the Seagate drives here and know I need a SATA drive but the rest is confusing to me. Recommendations? Please provide links for specific drives.

Thanks

Easier to use an eSATA drive. Opening up the HR20 and replacing the drive violates the service agreement with DirecTV.
I've weighted that option but prefer to upgrade the internal HD and don't want another box that needs power in my HT cabinet.

Anybody got any suggestions for an internal HD?

Like say-what said it violates the TOS to open the box and change the hdd.

The only drives that are approved for internal use in the HR2x are the ones that are already there. This site does not support your opening up or modifying any leased equipment. If you own the equipment outright, there are several threads here already discussing how to change out the drive.
