I didn't see this listed in any of the issue threads I read, so I hope I am not wasting space.

I was on vacation all last week and when I got back noticed first off, that I can't fast forward. I know this has been listed, all though I was pretty sure I was not on a local HD channel when it happened. Thought it was while watching Comedy Central.

The other thing I noticed was that a couple times, I hit pause while about 30 minutes into the buffer, and left the room. When I came back in and hit play, it was now at current time. That creates one hell of an annoyance with no skip-to-tick function. Hitting buttons (pressing/holding rw, and/or skip back) I got it to go to the start of the buffer, but then I couldn't ff to the spot I was paused at.

In frustration I held/pressed buttons, hoping to find a skip-to-tick function, and instead had it skip back to live time. I gave up on trying to find the 1/2 hr+ of missed show.

Anyone have the number for customer retention? I think I am going to ***** again and see if they can do anything for me.

And don't give the "If you want to be on the cutting edge, you have to deal with a few bugs" speech. I asked for the HR10, verified I would get the HR10, then got the HR20.

If you are paused and the screen saver comes on, if you hit play it goes to the end of the buffer. It's a bug. So pretty much hit any other button like the down arrow to clear the screen saver. Now you can hit play and resume from your pause point.
The screensaver does not even have to be on yet. Watching live TV, hit pause and go do your bathroom stuff, come back and hit pause again and you will be back to real time. It happens every time (at least on my box).

holding FF or RW for a couple seconds should give you skip to next tick

holding down replay and 30 sec slip should put your back to the very beginning and end of the buffer

I too noticed this live buffer pause glitch last night. I could not get back to where I wanted to be. I hope they fix this soon! I had zero issues until the last POS software update. As it is, I'll be watching commercials during Survivor tomorrow since I hate the FF problem. Maybe there will be a software update between now and then! ;)

That I haven't seen and I've paused a lot of programs. I only saw it when the screen saver kicks in.

I have tried the skip to tick trick of holding down the ff or rw, but it hasn't worked.... thus the added replays/slips... usually out of frustration.

I will try again tonight. Is there a certain amount of time I need to hold them? i have held it to around 3-5 seconds at least, with nothing.

For me if I've paused a program pressing the play button takes it to live. If I hit the pause button a second time instead it starts right at the point it was paused. So I've been trying this several times tonight and it works well, just hit the pause button again instead of play.

OK... tried the skip to tick method and can get it to work with the HR20 remote... sort of. With my Harmony 880 it is very tricky and finicky with the time held and the extra tap.

The big issue I did notice is... If you are on a channel showing a 30 minute show, it only shows 30 minutes of the buffer, and only 1 tick. When I was less then 15 into the show I could get it to skip to tick, but it wouldn't skip again to get to the end of the show. For that I finally figured out (after basically FF through it all anyway) that I had to use the 30 sec slip trick to jump to end. That got me to the end of the show and the start of the next 30 minutes of buffer.

Overall that is a pain in the ass and I am positive my girlfriend will never figure this out.

Also, I am not home so I can't check, but is there even a Live TV style button that I can hit to go back to live time, without losing the buffer?? Dtivo had that, or I could get switch tuners and come back and it would be live, if I didn't pause.
