First my box kept locking up. I reset it a couple of times cause the first time didn't work. The second time it erased everything I had recorded! Now I had something scheduled to record, light was on, and now when I pick the show it comes up blank. What a piece! Could the box run any hotter too! 127 degrees is what mine is at.

127 is about the normal temp.

Sounds like you may need a new box, if nothing is recording properly.

curious, what software version are you on. most current is 0xd8.

I would maybe try one more update (hopefully wednesday) and see if it gets better. If not, call D* and get a new box. I say wednesday because the last 2 updates have been on Wed. the last 2 weeks.

I'm not having any significant problems with the box, but I don't have to contend with HDMI issues (worked perfectly first time out of the box and has worked through two upgrades), or MPEG-4 (HD Locals), as we don't have them yet.

My box was running 127 degrees and I was not comfortable with it, (although I'm sure it within spec), so I bought a laptop cooling pad that had two fans on it. I set it UPSIDE DOWN, on top of the HR20 so it would PULL air out the top and evacuate it out the back. It took the temp down from 127 to 109 at worst, 105 at best. No noise, cheap solution. Mine plugs into AC, some you can plug into the USB port on the HR20.

I'm going on 2 weeks and have had one problem, one time (failed to record after resolving a recording conflict).

Lately I have been using the transport buttons a lot in recordings (FF/RW/etc) from the weekend sports and I have had no problems with them at all. I have not used the transport (some call them trick play) buttons on live viewing. I even set up a "manual" record last night for the Cards BB game, and it worked exactly as it should have. (lots of people report manual record has not worked for them)

Overall, I'm very happy, and relieved I'm not having the kinds of problems that some are reporting. I anxiously await the addition of the OTA tuner, and shudder at the thought of HD Locals coming on here....as a lot of the people having trouble seem to have MPEG-4/HD Local problems.
