Data from a Horowitz Associates report revealed that consumers are pleased with the digital service they're currently getting and are increasingly bullish for more/better features of digital and interactive television (ITV).

According to the report, satisfaction with digital cable is high among digital subscribers, with 29 percent stating that the service is better than expected, 55 percent said the service is what was expected and 12 percent indicated that it was worse than expected.

The Horowitz study (a phone survey of 805 cable or satellite consumers in markets where digital cable service was launched), showed that market potential for digital cable and satellite service continues to grow. Currently, the report revealed that 25 percent of consumers surveyed already have digital cable service and 17 percent say they're likely to subscribe to digital cable service.

The study also said that VOD, SVOD and PVR services are not currently offered on all digital cable and satellite platforms, but emerge as key drivers of digital service, with consumers saying these features would increase their likelihood to subscribe to digital services or add value to their existing service.
