So, as I sit here dishearten :nono2: , does the announcement that Smoke is leaving JGR and going to Haas, mean he will not get a dedicated driver channel for the rest of the season or what. Still haven't gotten a direct answer on who exactly chooses which drivers get one of the three open driver channels for a race. And no, this isn't an anti-Jr question.

Don't be disheartened Smokes. Red is a nicer color than orange and 14 is a better number than 20. Office Depot v. Home Depot is a wash. As a Tony supporter I'm excited for Tony and this new endeavor. Ryan Newman will be great in the 07 car with Jack Daniels with Matt Borland back as crew chief. It will all come together and Tony will be running up front. Maybe not immediately but soon enough.

As for this season, we're in 12th place and hopefully we will make the Chase, which means Tony will be on one of the driver's channels a fair amount of the time. I thought the schedule was set a number of weeks out and Tony was on it for Indy or am I mistaken? Go Smoke!!!

Oh I am not really dishearten because I will follow Smoke where ever he is. It is just that I have known Joe for years and followed Smoke before he came on board with JGR and to see him to go Haas of all teams was dishearten for me. I support him completely in wanting to do his thing with ownership. And for him to have #14 is great. I just want assurances that due to the announcement that he is leaving JGR at the end of the season he still will have a designated channel in more than one race til the season does end in Nov. Would love to see him actually take the championship. :D

I don't think Tony's move will have any impact on the frequency of his Hotpass appearances. I'd be money that he'll have a channel at the Brickyard.

I am glad that Tony is rejoining the Chevy family of drivers.

Nothing has been posted yet regarding the Hotpass schedule after Chicagoland. Perhaps they are still getting things worked out with ESPN/ABC.
Hopefully they post several races in advance again. It was nice having advance notice.

Boo - orange is the best color! (and that has nothing to do with NASCAR :) )

Hope you both are right that there will be no or little impact.

Smoke has a long and great relationship with Chevy, but the Haas relationship ...... doesn't sit well with me. Wonder how many other long time drivers will be thinking of switching now that Smoke was released early from his contract. Gordon surely has to be giving some thought to it. Can one imagine a Smoke/Gordon partnership in driving. Not ruling out any kind now. Nascar is transforming and it is a good thing.

I'm wondering about this Newman/07 thing too, as the 07 is a Childress car, not a Haas/CNC car.
