This latest Viacom outage has really hit me really hard. How can I get through the weekend without all the Viacom channels? Do you think it will be resolved by Monday? I am mainly worried about missing Jersey Shore on MTV, especially Snookie and the others.

Not trying to be a jerk but maybe upgrade your viewing habits. MTV and Snookie seriously.... The only channel on Viacom that I cared about was Palladia and that was maybe twice a year.

I was right.

For the most part, Viacom is "Trash Television" especially MTV and VH1, and Spike.

Comedy Central is decent, but I got used to watching it on their website instead of wasting time recording it.

Will I miss it? If I did , I would call DTV for a credit on my bill. I will not be calling them over this.

Even though I don't watch Viacom channels often, the idea that I might want to and can't really bothers me. I get this feeling anytime channels that I occasionally watch are pulled. As far as doing other activities--fine, but I want the ability to choose my activities when I want.

Seems like a lame attempt at sarcasm by Mitch.
Which is kind of funny considering it is being done on a site devoted to watching tv by a guy who has a service designed to watch more than just network tv.

That is a good idea. I like the books that have pictures in them. Those are hard to find.
My 4 year old has a Green Lantern Seek and Find Picture book he will LOAN you for the weekend (Heaven forbid you keep it for longer than 2 days !!)

agreed.
I'm getting pretty damned tired of the tv snobbery shown in a bunch of threads the last few days.
people don't like what I watch, too f'ing bad. none of their damned business.
comedy central and tvland loss hits us hard here, anyone feel like making smart a$$ comments about it??

I'm sorry for you if losing certain channels is hard on you. TV shouldn't have to be that important, IMHO.

Get a life! Get out of the house. Go see a movie. Go visit friends. Volunteer. Or read a book, as others have suggested.

I watch Colbert once in a while, but the lack of these 26 channels isn't enough to prompt me to complain. I've never heard of most of them; some of them that I've heard of I would never watch.

I would advise you to stay away from the HD Anticipation thread.

DirecTV has opened up four kid-centric channels to everyone and is quite liberal with free Showtime subscriptions. Well worth a phone call. ;)
