I've got some SLs that don't have anything in the TDL due to the 100 item limit and I'm wondering how I can edit those SLs? Anyone?

Excellent question. I don't think you can. At first I thought you could do it through the prioritizer, but you can't (just tried it). I've been hoping for a Series Link Manager, and it sounds like the latest s/w release will include that (if I'm reading the postings about the latest release notes correctly). This is one of the pieces of functionality that always kinda bugged me about the R15. The way it was set up was kind of stupid - you should be able to get to and modify your SL even if there's nothing set to record (you shouldn't be forced to go through the record option to get to it)..

If you just want to delete it, couldnt you just double dash it in the prioritizer?

I have the latest update, I just selected something from the prioritizer if there is no upcoming shows in the guide I got a screen telling me there is nothing in the guide and was prompted to delete now or dont delete. I selected delete now and got the bong noise like it didn't do anything but when I hit back and went to the prioritizer the SL had been deleted.

You can delete them but not view/edit if there are no entries in the TDL. I think the 10F1 upgrade changed all my SLs to record BOTH (repeats and first runs) and wanted to verify the remaining few but can't get into them.

10F1 did change all of my SL's to BOTH. I guess everyone just needs to be aware of that and do the proper updates after they get it.

As for how to edit when there are no entries in the TDL, I dunno. Haven't really had time to play with it very much yet.

I'm beginning to think the best option is to delete and readd the SL. The shows are in the guide, just not currently in my TDL. Oh well, maybe something for DTV guys to put on their "list".

Interesting. That's a sign, I think, that first-run processing is going to get better. I mentioned once before that people would be in for a rude awakening once they got it working, since first-run is the default (in contrast to TiVo). I wonder if they've also changed the default.

I've been *****ing about this from day one. The only way to do it (if there are episodes in the guide) is to one of the showings in the guide (which won't have a R)) on it or a R) on it). Then you have to tab over to the SL tab and then you can edit them. Now the bigger issue is if there are no upcoming recordings in the guide, then your SOL untill it comes back into the guide (which sucks if the show is on break).

I guess it could be worse. If memory serves, the Sky+ would just flat out delete a SL when there are no episodes. As I type that, I find it hard to believe it's that stupid. I need to research that.

Edit: I've found various comments along these lines, but it's sort of unclear. The guide is 7 days, and apparently if the next episode was farther out than that, it would just drop the SL. It may or may not have been sufficient to leave a recorded episode undeleted to persist the SL. And I find a software update from 2003 that apaprently allows a SL to survive a four week hiatus (gee whiz).

That's what morgantown had said and what I saw when I looked over at those forums. So yes it could be worse.

It's just another one of those things that the UTV and Tivo had so how the hell did the miss/leave/forget that? To me that's like forgetting to put in the Rewind function into the unit. It seems that basic to me (then again I think that no limits on the todo list and SL is basic).
