How do I remove one show from a series link when I have a conflict and get the second show to record and show in the todo list. I have tried to cancel the show in the guide. Then go into the to do list and the new show won't be there so I will try to hit the show that I want to record in the guide and select record and it will say yes but it still won't show up in to do list. I have went into priority manager and then edit episodes and cancelled one show from my SL and then see if the lower priority show will appear in the to do list and it won't. So then I will go into its episode and hit record again and it says that it will record but still doesn't show in the to do list and when the time is to record it won't record. What am I doing wrong?

mckeemike505,

I'm not sure if you're doing anything wrong. Pretty much right out of the box, I had a problem recording a second recording at the same time as another (football games on ST). It kept telling me there was a conflict although I only had one recording set to record. I called D* and they suggested a red-button reboot. I did that and the scheduling worked fine after that. Maybe give the red button a try?

I have done the red button reset and that didn't help. Does anyone know how often the to do list updates? The only way that I can get the show with a lower priority to record after canceling the one time show with a higher priority is to move the 3rd show higher in the priority list or it still won't record is this a known bug or is there a trick that I am missing?

I follow these steps:

1) Select program in the To Do List.
2) Select Record
3) Select Cancel Record

Then:

1) Go to guide.
2) Find show you want to record.
3) Press Record.

The To Do list should be updated and History should show you're cancelled recording.

that works ok as long as the 3rd program I am trying to record isn't a SL that had a lower priority.

Earl any thought on this one? Could you see if you could replicate it on your HR20?

Thanks,

Instead of deleting your scheduled recording or worse, deleting season pass, you can just change the priority. I will add this to Version 2.7 of the HR-20 Tips and Tricks.
