You can also highlight the selected show and hit the "-" twice.
So that deletes the "record series" as stored in the prioritizer? Does it also delete the show(s)? It's a good tip... I read it before, but that was before much hands on.

Thanks

If you want to delete just episodes and not the series link you want to highlight the episode and press the stop button.

You mean already recorded shows? No. Anything planned via the series link, yes. But the OP was asking about how to delete if there are no shows in the link.

You should also be able to go into the link and select Cancel Series on the lower right. The not-being-able-to-enter-a-series-link-that-has-no-shows-scheduled bug was fixed a while ago.

I find the concept of the prioritizer the most difficult (new DVR) concept to grasp.

This is my first DVR, but I've had hands-on with a few other DVR devices.

I watched the videos. I read the manual. My personal opinion is that the prioritizer was not adequately explained (or at least not explained in a way that sunk in for me).

As with most of the other DVR screens this one has hints at the bottom. One of them is to hit the RED button to remove an entry in the prioritizer. This will also give you a confirmation that you really want to delete it.

A "back door" code is the double dash as explained above which does the same thing but has no confirmation and just does it instantly.

Exact same usage in My Playlist to delete recorded shows for example.

What do you find confusing, perhaps we can help? Basically the prioritizer is something you rarely visit once you have it set. Only time I visit it now is to either remove something, modify a series link (say change from first runs to repeats) or if I add a new show then I may reorder the list to move the new one higher.

Start a new thread if you'd like some things explained and we'll help! :)

Nah, I get it now...

What confused me, initially, is how things got in the to do list...
Personally I think the prioritizer is the the "to do list" and the to do list is "scheduled events" (but I understand that the priority point needs to be driven home, since only 2 things can be recorded at the same time)...

Experimenting, I deleted all from the to do, but still saw the prioritizer notation in the show "info"... Since I did not initially grasp the concept of the prioritizer, I did not understand what I was seeing... I got it now...

It makes more sense when I realize that the "prioritizer" is keeping an eye on the guide for for, so when the next day's guide is acquired, it can keep adding things, logically, not based on a set time and channel... Pretty cool really

OK, I do have one new question... I'll make a new thread for that...

Re-populate the "To do" list? <--link
