I upgraded to a slimline back in October that I installed and at the time had high 80's+ on all satellites. As the trees filled in this year, my signals have plummeted. I've confirmed that the dish is still peaked, but the signals are still down quite a bit (103 is 30's).

I know in September, the sun will align with the satellites, but I can't wait for that. Is there a web site that will give me the exact heading and elevation for each satellite based on zip code that I can use to find the best spot to move it to?

My zip code is 06776.

Thanks for the help.

AirRocker,

It is the trees..don't screw with your dish. The compas az and all the published el & tilt get you close. After the dish is tuned you do not touch it.

Get a rope and start breaking branches. Call a tree guy if you want to be neat.
If you find yourself in a rural location stand behind th dish and start shooting limbs with a shotgun & BB loads.

It's the trees!

It's not my dish... It's TMullenJr's... but you are correct... his dish is most like not out of alignment... but he may be able to tweak a little bit better signals out of it... but a tree-trimmer may be the way to go... :)

How have you confirmed the dish is still peaked? It's possible that it's tree issues but 103 is gonna be the first ones to drop if the dish alignment is slightly off. 101/110/119 might all be good and in the 90's but you could have really low signals on the others.

103 is also pretty close to 101 and it's fairly unusually to see a LOS issue with one and not the other.

Alright,

Before you do anything rig a way to see the signal meter (s) you have been watching while able to touch the dish. This means a cell phone or an open window..........Then, with one finger start slowly pushing and pulling the edge of the dish.......without using wrenches........just push and pull the edges slowly.

Note any changes. Probably the tilt is ok so don't touch this until last, if necessary. Try left and right.......what? If th numbers go down when you pull / push the ax is on...if they go up...loosen the dish and push it there.
You have to watch 101 and the 103c numbers........ Continue with up and down..........70s are a minimum but 90s are ez with practice.

Work slow. Don't buy the $500.00 meter.
