I'm a bit confused on this.
I set up some recordings for during the week.
The recordings do not overlap, but the 622 has picked some to record on tuner 1 and others to record on tuner 2.
Why would this be?...is it normal?

If you use Dual mode and enable Record Plus, you have a button to pick a preferred Output to use to record. If Single mode, Record Plus uses TV2.

I'm assuming you are defaulting to TV2. If you pick a Sat channel to record, the highest priority recording will go to TV2. A 2nd recording for the same time period will end up on TV1. If you pick an OTA channel to record, it will always say TV1 - TV2 can't select / view live OTA channels. My guess is you have an OTA antenna and those are the ones that show up as 1.

Which TUNER is much harder to answer since there isn't a direct correlation where TV2 always uses Tuner 2. If it is an OTA channel, it really is a Tuner that it is showing you, but they show the 1 for both OTA and TV1 output (causing confusion).

I guess to find out you would have to unplug the cable to that input and see what happens.

Or with the remote, select Menu, 6, 1, 1. That will display the currently active Sat, Transponder, and tuner for what you were watching. Sometimes, you can even change the Tuner being used there on that screen and the change will remain in place. PIP/Swap/which TVx remote used, ... may change what displays, but when you first get to the signal strength screen, it will show you which cable you shouldn't unplug if you want to continue watching what you were watching when you displayed that screen. Unplugging the cable from Tuner 1 certainly tells you if that was the tuner you had been watching though. :)
