How long should a typical dish + DVR install take?

I'm getting an upgrade from an HR10-250 to an HR2x.

Here's what needs to be done during the appointment:
1) Remove 3 LNB dish from railing
2) Install 5 LNB dish to railing. All cables NEED to be re-used (can't drill another hole in the wall).
3) Power up HR2x (I'll get it connected to the TV while he's installing the dish)

Nothing else needs to be done inside the house. I already have RG6 going from the mounting plate to the receiver from the previous install.

I was assuming this would go pretty quickly. But I saw another post here saying this same process took 2 hours. Just wondering if that's pretty typical (because it has to download and install an update), or if it's faster/slower than normal. Obviously something unknown could pop up (like a bad part that requires a trip back to the office).

5LNB to railing maybe 6 days.
I'd say 45 - 75 minutes. Just make sure the dish is as solid as can be and uses the support braces.
I don't think the two dishes will go on the same mounting plate, so I'd vote for two hours.
The 5-LNB dish is considerably larger, heavier, and has a much higher wind load. Many mounting options that were acceptable with smaller dishes won't work or aren't safe with the larger dish. In addition to the main mast, the 5-LNB dish also requires 2 additional support poles.

Assuming this is the railing of an apartment balcony, it is very likely that some other mout configuration will need to be used.
Somewhere between 45 min and 6 days then. Guess I better get the guest bedroom ready :D

I know it's not exactly a straight swap-out, but many folks have pointed out to me that there's a standard railing kit for these types of installs. I wouldn't think it would take a lot of time. I'm not trying to rush the guy or anything, just want to know what to expect.

Thanks all!

Just call your HSP and tell them you need a kaku railing mount. and good luck because it can get ugly.
I could install it from scratch in 2 hours. So from what you say, I suspect 45 minutes or less.. Most of the time will be spent setting up the receiver, downloading and dealing with DirecTV to get it activated.
