How Many Resets Have YOU Done This Past WEEK?

I'm on number 6.
Just on the HD unit. My other 2 non HD units have been fine.
Let's see... 2 of the resets was because of one tuner not getting any signal. This is AFTER I was told by Dtv that I needed to do a FULL reset and wipeout my entire drive.
I did that. Even though some here told me not too... I went ahead and did it anyway because there wasn't much on the playlist to lose... This worked for about 6 days.
In fairness.. and I'm almost afraid to say this out loud, but we haven't experienced any Blank recordings since then..which to me, doesn't make sense because one of the tuners is out some of the time.. I guess that's because we haven't been recording two things at once??
The other 4 resets have been in the past 4 days. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I come downstairs at 6am and turn on the tv to watch the news and nothing. First two times, I think it's my 2 yr old tv.
Do a reset and sure enough... it all comes back to life.
They seem to be doing alot of downloads ... which is wonderful.. but why... why .. why does this keep happening?

I'm thisclose to telling them to come pick this thing up and give me a simple, plain dvr.

I havent had to do any resets, but I did notice yesterday that I am experiencing a lot of audio stutter on my recordings that seems to have begun in the last few days.
2 HR2x units. No resets in at least 2 months.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble. Have you had this unit there for a while, or is it a new unit?
Can't remember ever having to do a reset on my HR20's
SeptemberBaby,

Happy Birthday by the way :) ..

Perhaps the hard drive in your system is failing.
None
One reset per week on my HR20 is typical to resolve issues. None on my HR21 which doesn't seem to suffer the same issues.
No problems here.
Zero... unexpected resets in the last six months: One reset, on one of five receivers.
None on either my HR20-100 or HR21 ever.
No unplanned resets (i.e. not counting resets for CE downloads).
So, it's just me??? :p

I've been HD since, April? May?

I don't want to think about the conversation I'm going to have to have with someone to explain all this... I'm so sick of dealing with them. Between the Blank recordings and now this.. I'm digusted. Maybe I should consider going back to Time Warner? :eek2:
I can never do that.. I would have to eat too much crow!

Quick question.. and this is to only make me feel better (or not!) Are The Dish Network subs having issues like us? Please tell me their systems aren't perfect... it'll make me feel better. :)
I have had to reset my HR20-100 twice during the past two days because the remote was unresponsive for several minutes.

This sounds indicative of a bad hard drive. By doing a FULL reset, you reformatted the HDD which does tend to "fix" a lot of things. You saw that it did in your case. However, it also sounds like there are even more problems since then .. It is very likely that you have a bad internal drive and that by simply swapping to a new receiver your problems will go away. You should give DIRECTV a call about this problem.

Yeah... I think I'm going to have to do that... Grrrrrr....

I already know the answer to this.. but I'm going to ask anyway... is there any way to transfer the recorded stuff to the new unit?

This is just a major PITA!

Same deal here. Tons of resets on my Hr-21's....

Not sure what the deal is...but it's getting annoying...
I reset every day whether there's a problem or not. This just about guarantees I'll get good performance for 24 hours. I will never ever trust this piece of junk.
HR20 - 0
HR21 - 0
HR10 - 0
R10 - 1

I've had rain fade related issues on the HR2Xs before, but this time it was the R10 that locked up and required pulling the power plug. This may not have been a rain fade issue per se, but did happen during a week where we have had several very heavy showers pass through.
