I havent had to do any resets, but I did notice yesterday that I am experiencing a lot of audio stutter on my recordings that seems to have begun in the last few days.
This sounds indicative of a bad hard drive. By doing a FULL reset, you reformatted the HDD which does tend to "fix" a lot of things. You saw that it did in your case. However, it also sounds like there are even more problems since then .. It is very likely that you have a bad internal drive and that by simply swapping to a new receiver your problems will go away. You should give DIRECTV a call about this problem.SeptemberBaby said:I'm on number 6.
Just on the HD unit. My other 2 non HD units have been fine.
Let's see... 2 of the resets was because of one tuner not getting any signal. This is AFTER I was told by Dtv that I needed to do a FULL reset and wipeout my entire drive.
I did that. Even though some here told me not too... I went ahead and did it anyway because there wasn't much on the playlist to lose... This worked for about 6 days.
In fairness.. and I'm almost afraid to say this out loud, but we haven't experienced any Blank recordings since then..which to me, doesn't make sense because one of the tuners is out some of the time.. I guess that's because we haven't been recording two things at once??![]()

The other 4 resets have been in the past 4 days. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I come downstairs at 6am and turn on the tv to watch the news and nothing. First two times, I think it's my 2 yr old tv.
Do a reset and sure enough... it all comes back to life.
They seem to be doing alot of downloads ... which is wonderful.. but why... why .. why does this keep happening?
I'm thisclose to telling them to come pick this thing up and give me a simple, plain dvr.
