All this new hd. What's gonna go up? HD fee? Just the regular few dollar package fee? New tiers?

I called and Asked for Sunday Ticket Superfan for free and I got it for this coming up NFL Season (2008) This is the First year i'm getting the Superfan in HD. I thought I was going to have to pay the $99 in addition to the $9.99 I am already paying each and every month for DirecTv HD Access. $99 + 9.99 adds up to $108.99 which is too much to pay for games in HD on top of the $249 Early Bird Price of the NFL Sunday Ticket. I am hardley demanding anything be free but $99 is WAY to much to pay for any additional package. DirecTv is trying to rob good paying customers and people like me and other people on this Forums Board are standing up and saying enough is enough. You can't overcharge people a Kings Ransom and expect to get away with it. DirecTv should have known better to ask that kind of price in the first place.RunnerFL said:I bet it all goes up do to crazy lawsuits and people demanding free stuff from DirecTV.
That's the way I see it too.fluffybear said:My guess is DirecTV will develop new package tiers and increase the price of existing packages.
I'm really quite sick of complaints like this. Yes, ST is exclusive to D*. Yes, it is expensive, even at the discounted rate. But does anyone stop to think that part of the reason ST (along with EI, CI, HotPass, etc.) is due to the price set by the league? The league sets an exorbitant price for ability to carry even the standard definition games. D* actually takes a huge loss on it every year despite the fact that its a exclusive/flagship service. To offer those games in HD as well? By my estimate it costs D* at least $20-30 more per customer than the $99 charged for SF (mind you, I've never seen the actual figures, but some of the research I've done on the NFL leads me to believe this). Why does D* continue to offer this if it results in the losses that it does?Msguy said:I called and Asked for Sunday Ticket Superfan for free and I got it for this coming up NFL Season (2008) This is the First year i'm getting the Superfan in HD. First thing on my mind too  To stay on topic, I predict a $4 increase to the base packages and a lot of topics about this starting on... let's say... January 17, no, the 23rd.Tom Robertson said:Eight and a half months and you're already pondering this question? The price of gas will certainly have more effect on my monthly situation than what DIRECTV might or might not do that far from now.
