i'm new here, just had my install today. hr-34
when i had time warner if you were watching a "recorded" show that you
had in your list and you wanted to stop watching the show you could hit
"stop" or you could hit "live", by hitting "live" your recorded show would just
stop and you would then be at whatever the current channel was playing live.
i can't figure out if there is the "live" option on directv, of course i know i can press "stop", but i am just curious about the live t.v. button??

I usually use the Prev Channel button for this. It will take you from a recording back to the station you were watching. You can also press Prev Channel to get back to the recording, as long as you don't change TV channels first.

You can also press the guide button and surf, press the select button if you see something of interest. The previous button will take you back to the recording.
