I have tried to do a Search for Monday Night Football using the Title Function and the Keyword Function but neither returns any programming for Monday Night Football.

Help!!! What do I have to do to find Monday Night Football or do I just have to Manually Set it up for Record each week??? Thanks for your help.

I tried that last night but it just removed the Record Button so it didn't think it was a recurring event!!!

Monday Night Football is not in the Title of the game like it used to be when it was on ABC!!!

while you have it tuned to espn watching the game, hit the record button twice
You sure about that? I just went into the guide to next monday night's game and I cannot set a series link on it for the HR20-700.

Or is the trick that you have to actually be watching it?
If so, that's another bug somewhere that DirecTV needs to stomp.

To the original poster, unfortunately the "info" displayed in those games simply lists the teams who are playing ... meaning there's no other keywords that you can search for. Remember to use the GREEN button to timeshift ahead in guide 12 hours for each press.

I think the reason you couldn't select it as a series is because the games last night were in unique time slots.

When they get to broadcasting single games in their regular time slot, I'd bet you'll be able to double-press the record button to program recording the series.

I doubt it, at least not until they change the guide data, because I already checked next week's game and it doesn't consider it a series.

In past years it probably worked because the title was actually "Monday Night Football" instead of "what teams are playing".

+1 here too
I tried that too... game info shows as Eagles v Dallas but hr 20-700 only "allowed" single record a SL would not stick .

Just would toggle between rec on record off " clap-on"

The guide data seems to have the team names vs. "Monday Night Football".

I would guess you need to do a recurring manual record. One benefit to that is you can set it for 4 hours and not have to worry about the game going over.

It works on all DVRs. On the HR2x series go to "manage recordings" then "manual rec.".
The only thing that doesn't work is the "Keep Only" function. We had it, but then they took it away. Otherwise Recurring Manual Records works fine.

Menu > Manage Recordings > Manual Rec.:

then,

Record: Recurring

Channel: 206 ESPN

When: Every Monday

Start: 9:00 PM

Duration: 4:00 Hours (or whatever you want)

Well, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks this is a problem. The Tribune (or Zap2It) needs to put "Monday Night Football" in the title.

I guess I'll see it up as a Manual Recurring Recording but then again you will not have the title there in the Playlist to see that it is MNF!!!

No, but it will say

Manual: Eagles @ Cowboys

Nothing wrong with that.

You might try Monday Night Countdown with time adjustments, if that amount is allowed.

BTW: It is called Monday Night Football many places, but DirecTV seems to like saving space in their EPG listings. It is quite annoying in the sports alternates trying to figure out what sport is being played. :)

Yeah, because Eagles at Cowboys can be so many sports.

I would agree with you if it said Philadelphia at Dallas (or worse New York at Philadelphia) but team names are good enough.

Oh, and on my Tivo for Comcast it calls it NFL Football. Not MNF or anything like that. And it is not a series there, either.
