I have a couple of questions that I couldn't resolve from searching on the forum:

1) Is the tuner in the AM-21 better (or more sensitive) than the tuner on the HR-20?
2) If it is, can you connect an AM-21 to an HR-20 receiver? Any dangers (black holes and such)?

1) I don't know.

2) No, the HR20 does not support the AM21.

Some folks have said that the tuner is better in the AM21 .. I cannot verify that because I'm behind a mountain and can't get OTA period.

The HR20 does not recognize the AM21 so if you tried it would be an exercise in futility.

There was a detailed discussion here regarding the AM21 tuner and it was unanimously agreed upon that it was a far better OTA tuner than the HR20.

I'm in the shadow of three mountain ridges [which requires a lot more antenna] and can confirm the AM 21 is better.
