Just a curiosity...Is the HR-20 better able to hold an OTA signal? I currently have the HR10-250, but I can't consistently get the signal for my local Fox station. I have an antennae that picks up everything very well, including from a tower about 75 miles away (which is also the same basic location the Fox tower is). While this very well might be a station issue (the station does not broadcast at a very high level), but I was also curious about the quality of the antennae connection in the HR10-250. Is the connection better (or the same) in the HR20-700? I'm pondering getting the new receiver (even though I don't even get my locals in SD, much less in HD through D*). Would the upgrade be worth it at this point? Or should I wait until the switch is all but mandatory for the newer channels in 2007? Thanks for any help any of you can offer...

My HR20 seems to have a better (more sensitive) OTA tuner than my HR10-250. But others here have reported mixed results. I don't think you'll know for sure unless you try it.
I don't know whether the tuner is more sensitive than the one on the HR10, but it definitely is better (for me) at dealing with multipath issues. Signal strength isn't an issue for me, but multipath on one channel is a slight problem for the HR10 but not the HR20.

The signal strength meters show distinctly different results between my HR10 and HR20. My local Fox station broadcast tower is on a small mountain 31 miles away in Mexico and reception can be sketchy. Right now the HR10 meters are peaking out at 65, but on the HR20 they're between 31 and 41. I'm getting a good signal with no breakup on both. There are 3 stations broadcasting from another mountain 20 miles away in a different direction, but there must be some geography thing going on because I can't get those stations on my HR10 and I can't get them on my HR20 either, but the HR20 is showing a higher signal strength.

I just got 0x1b last night, so I can't really say yet that I've noticed any difference between the two.
