I've had my HR20 for a week and have some questions for those that have more experience with these units...

1. Are there any options to sort the list in MyVOD? The default seems to be by record date. Going back to my Tivo days, we had the ability to sort alphabetically - which was a nice feature. I just wanted to confirm or deny whether there were any options besides the existing date order.

2. When fast-forwarding on a recorded program, is there a way to quick advance to the next 'tick' mark displayed in the timeline? Again, back to my Tivo days, there was a button on my remote that did this. I'm aware of the 'bookmark' feature, but I'm looking for an easy way to incrementally move through the recorded program. Football games are a good example here - 3 plus hours and I may want to go directly to the half... The tick marks on Tivo units acted as chapter points you could quickly advance to. Doesn't look like this feature exists on the HR20.

3. My HR20 manual says "Other programs, which may include behind-the scenes and video extras for new movie releases, DIRECTV content packages, special offers, free events and more, are saved in the Showcases tab." I haven't seen anything appear in this tab - it's been a week since my HR20 was installed. I'm curious if others are getting anything - or if this feature isn't really utilized.

1) Yes, you can sort; but the sort only lasts as long as you are viewing. Once you put the unit in standby, all sorting criterior goes back to defaults. To sort, hit menu while in your VOD (Playlist).

2)Yes. Hold the FF button down for 3 seconds; it will move to next tick. Same is true for Rewind.

3) Showcases haven't been activated at this time. Not sure if or when they will be.

You can sort the list in MyVOD, but it won't save your changes.

Skip to tick - press and hold FF or REW and it will skip to tick after about 4 seconds.

No showcases yet...
