I have my HR-20 connected to my TV via HDMI and my receiver via optical. I want to add a "place-shifting" device, such as a SlingBox so I can use my DVR while travelling for work. Most of these place-shifting devices have component pass through. I've heard that the HR-20 outputs on all video connections (HDMI, component and s-video) at the same time. Is this true? Does the HR-20 output on all audio connections as well?

Some basically I want my HR-20 hooked up to my TV/sound syetm via HDMI and optical and to my place shifting device via component and RCA for audio.

Yes, all outputs on a HR2X series DVR are active at the same time.

The Slingbox Solo has component inputs and the Slingbox Pro has an add on unit that will allow you to connect it via component but it will still only be 480i.

It has component passthrough, so that people that have units that don't have all outputs active can still use it without having to change internal settings...
