my dvr sudently went down and cant see signal from the sats, as if the 2 lines feeding it were suddently disconnected, all other receivers in my home are ok, could the multiswitch go bad on the 2 outputs feeding it? ive tried several reboots with no avail!
all sat signals display all zeros on both tuners.....
is this common?
all recorded programming works well though.
please help!

Yes it is possible to lose just two outputs. Is it possible to move another receiver into that room to see if it gets signal?
Also try swapping around multiswitch output cables. That should help you isolate if it's the multiswitch or something wrong at the DVR.

switched multiswitch outputs and the problem continues, is it possible that both dvr tuners just went bad at once?
also, on the menu it only lets me see sat signals, no other option is displayed. Recorded programming does work fine.

What happens if you swap the "good" and "bad" Receivers?

You are the second person (that I have read) to describe this problem....

HR2x's will do this if they're disconnected from the antenna lines for a while. Sometimes you can get to a place where there's a selection to reacquire the satellite signals, but I can't remember exactly how you get there when it's in the mode you're in currently. Try unplugging it overnight and see if it will boot up normally in the AM. That frequently fixes things that RBR's won't. It may need to have no power for a long time period.
