It seems that it skips the preview of episodes for tomorow's show and then just goes to the next thing after the preview any help please would be great my wife is driving me nuts about this.
So you're saying that the credits will roll but then where your wife thinks there should be a "coming tomorrow" deal it skips to commercials or the next show?rob316 said:I did I put an extra 5 mins it seems to skip the preview and then goes to whatever comes after the preview.

It's General Hospital on WABC in NY. After the last scene of the show it goes to a 2minute commercial and then it goes to Next on General Hospital and then it shows the preview. It skips the part with Next on General Hospital and goes to what ever comes after that. I watched it on another tv that does not record and it does show the preview.RunnerFL said:So you're saying that the credits will roll but then where your wife thinks there should be a "coming tomorrow" deal it skips to commercials or the next show?
What channel are you recording these from? This wouldn't be a DVR issue. The DVR doesn't know enough to not record a preview. Odds are it's the channel you are recording on not showing it, or there isn't one to begin with.
I have to pad day of our lives for my wife. the HR21-700 starts 1-2 min late(this is a totally different thread in itself) and the beginning of the show is missed. When you set up to record your show there is an option to start recording x min early or end x min later. It sounds like the recording is stopping then starting to record the next show that is on that channel and just missing the preview.rob316 said:It's General Hospital on WABC in NY. You may be right because I have Oprah scheduled to record right after GH. Since I have the DVR scheduled to record 3mins longer after GH this may be conflicting. So should I have Oprah recored 2 minutes later so there is no conflict?jiserrab said:I have to pad day of our lives for my wife. the HR21-700 starts 1-2 min late(this is a totally different thread in itself) and the beginning of the show is missed. Hope this helps!
Is Oprah on the same channel as the soap?rob316 said:You may be right because I have Oprah scheduled to record right after GH. Since I have the DVR scheduled to record 3mins longer after GH this may be conflicting. So should I have Oprah recored 2 minutes later so there is no conflict?
Yes Oprah is on the same channel right after GH.RunnerFL said:Is Oprah on the same channel as the soap?
Do you not have both tuners hooked up? If both tuners are hooked up and you are only recording 1 show after another you shouldn't have this problem.
If you only have 1 tuner hooked up this will be a problem then.
For example:
Let's say your wife's soap goes from 1pm to 2pm.
Then we'll say Oprah comes on at 2pm and runs until 3pm.
If you have both tuners hooked up tuner 1 will record the soap and tuner 2 will record Oprah, or vice versa.
If you only have 1 tuner hooked up then as soon as your soap finishes the DVR will change to Oprah and start recording.
now let's say you have the soap set to record from 1pm to 2:03pm. And Oprah is from 2pm to 3pm. If Oprah is higher up in your priority list you may have a problem with those last 3 minutes.
If you only have 1 tuner hooked up you're going to have to ask your wife what is more important, previews of tomorrows show or Oprah.
Try to convince her the previews will only have her focusing on tomorrows show too much and she could even lose sleep over it.
Record something and then try to change the channel. If you're able to change the channel then both tuners are hooked up.rob316 said:Yes Oprah is on the same channel right after GH.
I have two tuners hooked up I think, Direct tv was just installed last week and the tech said that yes I have 2 tuner, there are 2 Rg6 cables going into the dvr. Is there another way to check if I have 2 tuners?
Does it actually skip or does it have another commercial.rob316 said:It's General Hospital on WABC in NY.
