I have an HR22 that has stopped recording all series. As an example, I had a series set up to record the nightly news every night that stopped working about a week ago. I tried removing the series and readding it. If I go to the guide and press record twice, I get the record series icon but the series does not show up in the series manager. Going to the next night in the guide, the entry does not show the record icon. My To Do list is empty and in the series manager all of them have 0 in parentheses. If I look at the detail of some of them, it will list upcoming airings. From the guide, if I select a specific airing to record, it will do that.

I've restarted the receiver multiple times and tried leaving it unplugged all day yesterday with no success. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd probably start with two reboots within 30 minutes to flush the guide. I would also reboot and during the self check press select, then run hard drive diagnostics. This may need to run overnight.

Did you recently get a software update, around the time this started?

I've done the two restarts. I haven't done the HD diags. I don't know about the update.

If that doesn't work, manually delete all the series links and recreate some of them and see if it comes back.

If that doesn't work, erase everything (including recordings).

If *THAT* doesn't work, return the box.

I did a "reset everything" which looks like it fixed the issue.
Glad it fixed it.

If it happens again within a month or two, you may have a bad hard drive and should get the box exchanged. That kind of thing should never happen, but could happen once every few years or so if the database somehow gets corrupted.

Unfortunately, D* DVRs don't have a "clear everything but the recordings" option.

DJ, Glad the "reset everything" worked for you. The warning says that you will lose all recordings. Did that happen to you?
I'll do that if necessary, but I've got a lot of watchin' to do first!
yes, it wiped out the recordings. :( Thankfully, Doc McStuffins was on another DVR, otherwise there would have been "issues" :nono2:

Good news: The reset everything fixed my problem and I did not have to watch all my recordings first!
Bad news: My Recorder somehow deleted all my shows before I got a chance.
I'm sure Moneyball will be on again.
Reset Everything is basically a format of the DVR. It wipes all settings and recordings.

Yea, I know. Only problem was the shows were deleted BEFORE I did the "reset everything". Sounds like I may have a hard drive problem> I'll monitor it for a while and won't use it for any "mission critical" recordings.
Gotcha.
