We just got back in town from being gone a week. We started a recording and it lost signal to my HD LCD on hdmi. I reset the dvr and noticed on the front it said 720.

I went into settings and 1080i and 1080p are selected. I was able to get it to 1080i from the front panel but 1080p won't go for some reason. When I test it front the dve settings it shows and has me hit the info button.

Any ideas why 1080p isn't working suddenly?

1080p output is only on ppvs and select on demand content. Recorded HD content is either 720p or 1080i
Do you have the Native set to "on" or "off" ?

Where is the native option?

Menu>Setting> Display>Video> Set native to off if you want the receiver to output in 1080i regardless of the contents resolution.
