I just called D* and asked if I could get the HR-34 only, and she said no. I needed to get the whole home, or Direct Connect (I think that's what it's called). I asked her how much everything (itemized) would cost and this is what she quoted to me over the phone

Whole home install $199
HR34 $299 (normally $399, but I got $100 discount)
Installation $49


Does this seem fair, or am I getting ripped?

Then just go through solidsignal.com for your HR34. Yes, it would be $100 more for the HR34 itself but you're saving the install and whole home fee.
