My HR20-100 is very slow to respond to remote control commands every morning when it is first used. Keystrokes on the remote either don't connect or take awhile to connect. After several dozen commands the system operates ok for the rest of the day, but the next morning the same thing happens again.
Info:
HR20-100 with 1TB esata HDD on whole house viewing with another HR20-700that does not have this issue.
Both units are "on" 24/7.
This problem is fairly recent, but I think it started with the HDGUI.
Any thoughts????

I'm slow in the morning too. Need that second cup of coffee to get going.

All kidding aside, try unplugging your external drive and see what happens the next day.
Might be a drive issue. Easy enough to isolate.

Tell me, Steven, what would you suggest for we who have no external drives?
Reboot it.

All my 20-700s except for one are only used as servers. When I do have to use one it does take a couple minutes for it to realize it has to wake up and get snappy again. I think this is normal, for me anyway.

Same for my Hr20-700. The first keystrokes in the morning "wake it up", then it will accept meaningful input.:)

I guess I am relieved that others are having the same experience...
This is somewhat recent behavior...and my other DVR (HR20-700)
is unaffected.
Is this something that will be "fixed" ??
Mine have been like they are now for an awful long time. Kinda like starting an old, cold car in the depths of winter. I kinda doubt a fix is in our future.

The one thing that's always worked for me is flushing the Guide Data. Reboot and reboot immediately again and when the Guide is thru reloading the HR is back to normal. Had that happen to a 24-500 a few months ago and it's been fine since I flushed it.
