Just got directv setup this weekend and am thinking of getting the HR20. If I only have one line coming off the dish and into my house is there anyway to get the HR20 to record two sources. I am trying to avoid drilling another hole into my house.
It's my understanding that the HR20 needs 2 separate feeds from the dish to record 2 sources. You'll also need the 5LNB dish to get your locals in MPEG 4.gbca29 said:Just got directv setup this weekend and am thinking of getting the HR20. Welcome to the forums, gbca20. :welcome_sgbca29 said:Just got directv setup this weekend and am thinking of getting the HR20. Are you close to an HD-transmitter? If so you may be able to receive HD local channels with a table-top antenna. If you can, hook up the antenna to the HR20. Once you have 0x104 software, you could then record a program from the satellite at the same time you record from your antenna. Not ideal, but it could give you some additional flexibility for relatively low cost. At least you could watch another program while you are recording.gbca29 said:Just got directv setup this weekend and am thinking of getting the HR20. I am probably going to have to bite the bullet and drill another hole in the wall. Thanks for the help.Bad Rex said:Are you close to an HD-transmitter?
