Although it may not be considered scanning for these channels,this is how we get our local OTA channels/sub-channels through both of our HR20-700's.
1. Go to main menu
2. Select Parental,Fav's & Setup
3. Select System Setup
4. Select Sat & Ant
5. Select Antenna Setup
The rest of the steps should be pretty much self-explained in the OSD from that point.We get 21 OTA channels currently.

That's the magic question. To be honest they're into new models now with the HR21 and HR22 boxes which also don't scan so I wouldn't expect to see it as a feature any time soon if at all.

I'd love to have it because I could pick up stations from another DMA if the box recognized the stations. You can only get the channels they give you for the zipcodes you enter during the setup process described above.
