I have an owned HR20 with a non-functioning HDMI ouput. I've ruled out the cable and the monitor. HD locals are NOT available here. I have the protection plan. What will I get for a replacement?

Another HR20?
An HR21 with no ability to get HD locals?
An HR21 + AM21?

Probably you won't know until they come out to replace it. I'd make sure to tell the CSR when you place the call that if it's a HR21 you want a AM21 for free since you already paid $100 for that functionality if they don't give you a HR20 as a replacement.

I tried to set up the swap from the office this morning but they won't do it unless I call from home and read off all the numbers, pull the access card, reboot etc. :rolleyes:

Time to state "CANCEL SERVICE' at the first voice prompt. You will then get someone who is articulate with the authority to help you on the line.

I don't think it's time for that at all. Misuse it and it's going to go away or lose it's value. I really wish people would stop recommending that.

It's not unreasonable for them to request that you troubleshoot and then read off the numbers on your receivers/cards. Yes, it's a PITA because you likely know more than the person on the other end of the phone, but humor them and it'll go a lot smoother.

According to the shipping email I just rec'd, it's an HR20 refurb.
