The HR20 recorded one of my series links (Ugly Betty on ABC Channel 10-KXTV/Sacramento. This was an MPEG 4 recording.) The problem is the HR20 continued to record for 9hrs 52min and only stopped when I unplugged the unit. I got up this morning to catch the news and the unit would not turn on. I noticed that the recording light was on and could not remember setting anything up to record this early in the morning. Anyway, I tried to reset the unit via the "red button" to no avail. I had to unplug it and then it reset. I have never had this problem with recordings before. the only other time I had to reset the unit by unplugging it was when I got the latest software update and the unit would not turn on. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions on anything I could do to correct this?

Had the same problem (See - "Anybody have this happen" post) Mine only continue to record for an hour and a half before I noticed the problem.
Was able to "unlock" with the reset button. New problem?

Had this happen. Just a red button reset was all it needed. THe recording was like 18 hours long (in HD!) but worked anyway.. just delete the long recording and your good to go.

In my case the red button reset did not work. When it happened to you was it on an MPEG 4 recording? I wonder if when I received the latest software update and the unit froze if that caused the problem? I would hate to have to reset everything and lose all my recordings.

Yes... MPEG4 locals is all I record. I don't watch the MPEG2 or SD anymore. Did you read The thread I started?

tjboyd, yes I did, naturally it was after I started this thread. Also, I see that Earl has noted this problem for correction, I just hope it is in the next software release.
