Well, it took until today to show up, but the HR20 unwatchable bug is alive and well in 0xeb.

I have 4 recording that all show the negative time stamp and no trick play will work.

We have the Partial bug, and a new resync bug on mpeg2 trick plays, and now all I am missing is an interface lockup requiring a reboot and this version will be just like the last version of the software + a new bug.

I am not sure what to call a DVR that dosen't record correctly, a DVwant-a-beR.

If I am up to it I will post screen shots Monday, so the folks at D* can see for themselves.

This is getting old, I just want the damn thing to record what I tell it to, I just caught an earful from the lady about how at least the TiVo recorded things right. Please just fix the damn bugs, make the DVR record correctly and not miss shows with a partial bug. I will live with the damn trick play issues, to be fixed in the future, just please please please make it record correctly.

Your pictures look exactly like what we experienced for the first time this weekend. Sadly, up until this last software update, we never had this problem. But we do now! I already posted about it here: http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=69861

When it comes to the meaning of DVR and the HR20, I think it should be DRV... DOESN'T RECORD VIDEO Fortunately, this only seems to be happening on the same channel and on the same show for us. Fuse Number One Countdown. However, the wife said if it starts NOT recording the shows she really cares about, then there will be Hell to pay! UGH! Funny how the last software update was supposed to fix problems, but it actually created them (for us anyway!) We've even gotten our first solid lockup of the unit with this last update! We never had the unit completely freeze before until this last update. Suddenly, using a VCR doesn't seem so archaic any more...

I did a hard reset last night. I am hoping that gets it back on track. I unpluged it and unpluged both Sat. feeds. Plugged the Sat. feeds back in, plugged the box back in and it restarted. No problems since. But my first set of recordings is comming up in about 20 mins..

I went for a few days with no problems under the new software. I do not think it is a user repeatable action that gets you into this bug. What ever triggers it, it will hit you it is just a matter of playing the odds until you are stung. As you can see from my prior posts the history of this defect goes back to when this box was released.
