HR20 tuner problem

Hi,

I just got my HR20 700 and in the room that It is installed I only have one line. It's going to be difficult to get a second line with the finished ceilings. My problem is that when I am changing the channels I'll get a message that pops up and says something like "There are two tuners in use choose which one to watch" then you have to hit select and it goes away and then randomly when switching channels it will come back again. Do I have to have 2 lines ran to the HR20 for it to function properly, I knew the dual recording wouldn't work with out it but I didn't think it would cause this type of problem.

Thank you.

I had a problem today with the second tuner on my HR20 that is similar to Mixer's.

A tech came out today to replace the LNB on my AT9 dish. I was getting intermittent "searching for satellite" messages on both my HR10 and the HR20 when tuned to the HD channels 70-79 which are all on the 119 sat. After he had fixed the LNB, he insisted that both units had to be rebooted (I've disconnected and reconnected cables on the HR10 and two other DVRs in the past and I've never had to reboot).

After they both came back up, channels 70-79 were coming in fine on both units. Some time after he left, I decided to test whether I was going to be able to record two 70-79 channels simultaneously on both machines and when I went to start the second recording on the HR20 it said that I was already recording something and did I want to stop the recording or cancel. It only showed one channel recording and didn't show a second channel. I checked the signal strength on all sats and tuners and it showed that everything was fine. But when I switched to Signal Meters, it showed Tuner 2 not acquired. I rebooted again and when it came back up, it showed that both tuners were acquired on the Signal Meters screen. I tried recording two different programs and both started recording. My take on this is that apparently the HR20 can "forget" that both tuners are hooked up.
