Hi all - I have an HR21-200 (owned) that went into the reboot loop last week. I called DTV and they promptly sent me a replacement. They also indicated that the one I had was owned - so I did not have to return it, and could do whatever I wanted with it.

I am fairly certain that the problem is a bad power supply. Does anyone have any suggestions on where one might be able to find just a power supply? I checked with weaknees (no luck) and on eBay (no luck).

I'm not aware of anybody selling spare parts for DirecTV DVRs/Receivers. Your best bet is watching eBay for someone trying to sell a defective box and buy it for its parts.

Try weaknees. I'm pretty sure they will sell you a power supply, or you can ship your unit to them for repair.

Weaknees was a no-go, all he did was try to sell me a new unit. Did not even offer to help me get it fixed. Odd, they are suaully SO helpful...maybe I caught them at a bad time.

I'll keep looking.....

had a brownout, the unit without UPS didn't power up, it´s the power supply, I was able to find one here:

ebay could be another source.

Regardless of what the sellers think - All of these are for sale on FleaBay but Directv says they are leased: So they are only good for parts if someone buys them

Before spending Money Repairing the Dead Hr21 check the status of the repalcement, If a receiver was sent under the protection plan the new receiver should be "owned" as a direct replacement for the dead owned, receiver. I would confirm that they will activate it should you repair it
