HR21-700 Dead?

It appears one of my HR21-700's has died. Last week the picture kept freezing up. This week all the recordings wouldn't work until I rebooted it (about 3 times a day). Finally, it stalls out at Step 1 of 2: Checking Satellite settings with the front record light on a more yellow color instead of orange. I'm assuming this means something failed.

I wish the new TiVo units would be out. I cannot stand these heap big piles of **** that DirecTV has.

Sounds like a simple hardware failure, the Tivos will have the same thing happen too, it is hardware and hardware fails occasionally.

Even some of the past Tivo units failed and had issues, it happens.

I have TiVo's that are 8 years old and still running. Never had a failure with the TiVo unit's.

And it's not just hardware with these piles. It's the constant software bugs. Give me a rock solid DVR and screw MediaShare and the like! I never had to reboot a TiVo because of a lockup or anything! These things are at least a once a week reboot.
YMMV as they say. My HR21-700 has been rock solid just as my Tivo was.

I can say though that many Tivos had failures and many were good, just like the HR2x DVRs. The H10-250 Tivos were notorious for HDMI board failures, and hard drive failures in Tivo units were not uncommon either.
