Ok, I have 4 DTV boxes, 2 HR20's and 1 HR21-700 and a HR21-200 ..the problem: I have 0 signal strength on both HR21 units on Sat 110, fine on the HR20's. Channel 73 (ESPN-HD) , 75(TNT), and 78(HDNET), searching for signal on both HR21's, fine on the HR20's. I replaced both grounding blocks, many resets, RBR and remote, no success. I also have the "side-car" , AS9??, dish..you know the one, extra LNB on side...ok what gives?? 2 months ago no problems, why now?

Thank you for your input.

update, took the HR21-700 to my in-laws house who have a Slimline dish..everything worked fine...hmm guess it's either the multi-switch, or the dish. Since I have 4 HD-DVR's maybe they will put in the latest dish.

I doubt it's the dish, or your HR20's would have the same problem. Since you have four DVRs, you hopefully have Zinwell WB68 eight-output multiswitch somewhere. Try swapping the outputs at the multiswitch to see if the "missing 110º" is isolated to just some of the multiswitch outputs.

Also, if you swap your HR21 with HR20 in the same locations, does the problem stay with the HR21 or in that room?

Don't worry about the dish setting as long as it's "5-LNB" or "Slimline". Your AT9 dish should not be the problem or you would be missing 110º on all of your DVRs.

Just a quick test: Take the BBC's off your HR21's and see if you can receive CH's 73, 75, and 78 then.

Get rid of your AT-9 dish and get the Slimline dish. I had a similar problem with searching for sat 771s. Once the Slimline was installed all my problems disappeared. The installer told me the AT-9 has problems as more boxes are added. That is why it used to work and now you are having problems. Trust me, I went through what you are for months, now with the Slimline, no problems.

Yes, thats's what I am hoping for. I am going to try for a SwM8 -multi-switch also. :D they don't want me to call the "retention" department, my $135/ month average bill should cover it!

For almost the last two years, I've had an AT-9 feeding two Zinwell WB68's in parallel with 13 tuners (6 DVR's plus one H20) with no problems. That installer may just be speculating.

Recently purchased HR21-200. During playback of recorded shows, picture pauses and re-starts as much as 15 times during hour show. For some reason, TNTHD is the worst. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how do you correct it? Thanks!

Is your receiver networked? If yes, unplug it (from the network) and see if this helps.

MJs, this was an interesting problem resolution, and thanks to jameswei for adding his experience. I will look at AT-9's with even more suspicion henceforth when there are oddball problems....:)
