I have an HR21-700 that is normally connected to two of the four outputs from an SL5 LNB (obviously not a SWM setup). I wanted temporarily to operate the HR21-700 on one satellite output from the SL5 for a testing purpose, but the receiver seemed to take forever to boot up, and I gave up on waiting for it. Is there a need to tell the receiver in some way that it is connected to only one satellite output? If so, how do you do that?

Under your settings, go to Satellite setup and change it from two tuners to one tuner.

And make sure that the cable you disconnect is Sat2 not Sat1.....
