HR21 Search feature question

Hi all,

I have had my HR21 for a month now and really like it! I have a question though. My old RCA reciever had a function called "scout" I believe it was called.
Basically I could input a name of a show and it would alert me when it was going to be on. I can't find any feature like that on the HR21. Only the search feature which only searches 2 weeks ahead.

Basically the "scout" would allow me to search for "Men in Black" it would then allert me when it was going to be on. It might be six months from now but if it was on it would then alert me at that time. There must be somthing simaliar to that for the HR21?

Thanks

Jeff

I know what you are referring to but the DirecTV software doesn't have exactly what you are looking for.

You can however setup a Wishlist/Autorecord.

Just perform a keyword search, on "Men In Black" for instance, and when no results come back choose the "Autorecord" option that shows up in the left hand column. Then whenever something with "Men In Black" in the title comes up the DVR will automatically record it for you.
Thanks! I tried like you suggested and I think that will work fine!

Your other option is to not do autorecord and go back and look at the Recent Searches periodically. Unfortunately, there is no way to get listings from all of them at once (like Tivo had) but you can look at key ones.

One thing about searches that are not auto-record. There is a limit to them (25?) and old ones will get replaced so keep them clean.
