I have 2 receivers hooked up to 1 dish.

My HR20-700 is functioning well, with satellite signals in the 90's.

Until yesterday, my HR23-700 was also working properly.

Yesterday, when I turned on the TV attached to the 23, I got a "771 Searching for Signal" message.

I rebooted the receiver, and got the same message.

Then I refreshed the receiver online...

And the signal returned until I changed the channel. The signal lasted about 10 seconds before the screen went black and the 771 message returned.

A reboot and a refresh did nothing.

I checked all the connections and nothing looks out of whack.

Before I call for a service technician, I thought I'd ask here for any suggestions or help.

Try swapping the two HD DVRs. See if the problem stays with the "bad" DVR.

Do you have a Single Wire Multiswitch dish? If not, be sure to keep the BBC modules on the back of your HR20 connected to that DVR when you move it. The HR23 does not use BBCs.

Did you check signal strengths on both receivers, for both tuners? Could be bad lines going to the HR23.

Are you on SWM? If you don't know look at the back of the receiver and see how many coax cables are hooked up to it.
