Just wondering if they are included in the box for new shipments. I've ordered one online from a directv retailer, just wondering if I need to order a couple of BBC's separately. The HR24 is supposed to be "brand new" not a refurb. Thanks :)

In a non SWM system, it's the HR23 that doesn't use them.
thanks for the info. Seems strange to have the newer box still need them in a non-SWM install though, don't you think?

Nope, not at all. The HR24 doesn't use the same wide band tuners as the HR23. Either DirecTV wound up not liking them or there was an issue using them.

Actually BAHitman is right, DIRECTV just didn't need to spend the money for wideband tuners when they were going SWiM and probably had millions of BBCs on the shelf.
