Hello All,

This morning one of our HR24's was not connecting to the group so I went directly to it and it said it had a drive problem. I rebooted it a couple times and it kept reporting the same.

So I installed a 2TB green drive I had on the shelf and everything booted right up and looks fine (aside from all the recordings obviously being gone).

Q. will the unit have any issues with a 2TB drive? Will it slow down over time? Can the OS handle the index size etc.?

Thanks

The 2TB will be fine. Yes, it will slow down when you get past 70% or so full.

Before you give up on your recordings, you might try to use the gparted program and see if it can read your old drive. Instructions are here.
Thanks for the link.

In my case the old HD is playing the rice crispy song as soon as it is powered up.

I like the new design it is a lot easier to work with than the old one.
