Lately our HR24-500 has sometimes continued to record beyond the end of a program. Not just a few minutes, either, if not caught and the recording stopped manually, it can continue for hours or days.

This is a problem, because it occupies a tuner and later scheduled recordings are getting bumped. We tried a reset (power, that is, not a reset to factory defaults) but within 24 hours it did it again. Anyone else seen this behavior? Any insight or suggestions?

Sounds like a problem with the HR itself. You can either wait until the next NR and see if that fixes the problem (probably won't) or get a replacement.
